Analisys of Colombian and Italian culture through Hofstede model

If we start to analize and compare Colombian a Italian culture, we could find that there are few diferences and things in common. Through Hofstede model, we can observe that our Country Colombia has a score of 67 in the dimension of Power distance, this score can be consider as intermediate, and the reason of this is that Colombians are familiarized with inequality, they believe that inequality among people are a simply fact of life, and we think that this happen because in the whole colombia's history there're leaders who have a lot of concentrated power compared to others Colombians. Meanwhile. In Italy has a score of 50, a lower score compared with Colombia and this is because Italians tends to prefer equality and a decentralisation of power and decision-making. Likewise, Individualism dimension in Italy has a score of 76, a high score compared with Colombia that has 13, Italians are 'me' centered specially in the richest cities, also they have few close persons to consider a friend. Otherwise, In Colombia, people are more integrated and there are groups that often have strong class distinctions. Besides, the dimention of masculinity have similar scores in both Countries, Colombia with 64 and Italy with 70 respectively Colombians are competitive and status-oriented and this also happens with Italins.
Now on the three remaining dimensions, we can find the uncertainty avoidance where Italy has a score of 75 and Colombia has a similar and higher score of 80, this could be because both countries emotions are openly expressed, there are rules for everything and there are social conservatism. With a low score of 13 in the dimension of Long term orientation, Colombian culture is caracterized because they often exhibit great respect for traditions in the society, also there is a relatively small propensity to save for the future, Colombians focus on achieving quick results. On the other hand, Italy has a high score of 61 on this dimension and shows that Italian culture is pragmatic, accordinto to the Hofstede model, Italians are people that believe that truth depends very much on situation, context and time. They show an ability to adapt traditions easily to changed conditions, a strong propensity to save and invest, thriftiness, and perseverance in achieving results. When we analyze the Indulgence dimension the score for Colombia is very high with 83, this may be because the people in Colombia in general possess a positive attitude and have a tendency towards optimism. In addition, many Colombians place a higher degree of importance on free time, they act as they please and spend money as they want. In addittion, Italy has a considerable lower score of 30 and this could be because iItalians often  don't put much emphasis on leisure time and control the gratification of their desires.
